NB Color Design

A few models in the Trail, Running, and Walking categories for New Balance.

Color Design by Brezaja Hutcheson

NB Design Foundry Personal Project

Using existing inline Lifestyle product at NB, I was inspired by the idea of centering a color story around high-fashion for what NB would consider the Established Independent, a consumer who prioritizes comfort and the allure that comes with having a strong sense of personal style and identity.

For Performance concepts, Footwear Design interns to created a product that they imagine an ambassador of their choosing to sport in the areas of Basketball and Trail Running. This space often appeals to the Rising Independent - an athletic person who is drawn to bright colors that are visually appealing relay the message of fastness for competition.

Using palettes that I conceptualized for both Lifestyle and Performance, I gave each product their own feel, accentuating specific shades that highlight the key messages for both categories.

Additional Color Design

This area is where I combine my knowledge of color theory and fine art practice with a design mindset. I experimented with manually applying color to create something new, and used my skills as a draftsman to create digital patterns.

TEAM KAWHI PLC x NB Portfolio

At the culmination of our 5 weeks at Pensole Lewis College, Footwear, Apparel, and CMF students collaborated to design a shoe and outfit for an athlete ambassador at New Balance. Footwear designers on my team identified challenges that could potentially be faced while our athlete may be training or in his daily routine.

Through research and experimentation, I created 4 stories that correlate to Kawhi's personal story and interests. I applied blockings to an Inline NB model and used the Energy or SMU Colorway cross our team Footwear and Apparel Designers' work.
